Ed Caner is an acclaimed violinist, violist, educator, and entrepreneur based in Cleveland, Ohio.

Described by the legendary music critic Jane Scott as “one of the most versatile musicians on the planet,” Caner has built a  career as a highly sought-after soloist and sideman in multiple genres. He has shared the stage and toured with international acts including Page and Plant (Led Zeppelin), The Moody Blues, Smokey Robinson, Natalie Cole, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Yes, Mannheim Steamroller. and Luciano Pavarotti. He is also highly regarded for his frequent collaboration with the renowned Irish folk duo The New Barleycorn.

Ed was a long-time collaborator with rock legend Micheal Stanley, having appeared on 9 of Stanley's albums and countless performances as a member of "Michael Stanley & Friends". 

Ed is a founding member of the critically acclaimed Americana quartet Hey Mavis, performing alongside his wife, singer-songwriter Laurie Michelle Caner. 

As an educator, Ed has served full-time on the physics faculty at Case Western Reserve University for 20 years. He has written two books--Fiddling for Classical Stiffs and Fiddling for Classical Kids--each of which has sold over 15,000 copies and are currently available through Ludwig Masters.

Whether delivering fiery Irish tunes at local pubs or headlining his own concert series at the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park's Happy Days Lodge, Caner brings a distinct energy and versatility to every performance.
